  • Emergency backup service

Your day is going to start right at the heart of Renwick’s 14 Cellar Doors, who are not only located beautifully close to us and easily reached via flat roads and along safe bike-paths, but most are just 5-10 minutes biking apart!  Your first tasting could be within 2 minutes of getting on your bike!!

On arrival, you will be given a detailed cellar door map designed by us which highlights all the bike paths and quiet roads (and which roads to avoid) to help you safely navigate your way around.
We will show you a video on all the cellar doors so you know what they offer and who has food, plus we will pass on up-to-date information and friendly advice to help you plan your day.
Your time is then your own to explore and enjoy, where you bike at your own pace as you won’t have to worry about keeping up with others.
If you need us, or if something happens to your bike, our emergency backup service means we will be out to look after you in a jiffy.
We have a great selection of bikes (with comfy seats!), they all have baskets and dedicated wine panniers and if you end up buying more wine than you can carry, just give us a ring as we can pick it up for you.

What to bring

  • Comfortable shoes

  • Small backpack

  • Cell Phone for those photo opportunities or in case you need us!

  • Sunscreen & Sunglasses

  • Wet weather gear in case of unexpected rain

  • Over 18 years ID (for our younger looking visitors) - this must be either a passport, NZ Drivers Licence or a NZ Over 18 ID Card (please note that an international drivers' licence cannot be accepted by cellar staff)

Wine tasting experience charges

These charges are not included in the bike hire and so it is just a case of paying for your tastings as you go. To help you budget for the day, the charges are between $10.00 - $25.00 p/p for 5-7 tastings and for this, not only will you get to sample their “tasting flight” but also learn about their wines and how they are made.  Most folk choose to go to a maximum of 5 cellar doors during the day (any more than that and your taste buds have no idea what they are tasting!!).

It is at each cellar doors discretion as to whether they refund the tasting experience charge.

They can all accept credit card, eftpos or cash.

Don’t forget, we offer a free pickup service of any wines you buy whilst you are out on the bikes.

Steve’s Wise Words…
“Making wine is a passion and for many it has been a lifetime of hard work, commitment and sacrifice."
"There is no such thing as bad wine, it is just “not quite to your taste.”

"Wine tasting can be so very subjective, so don't worry if you don't like them all.”
